Apartfrom this blog and Youtube channel, I also have Facebook Fanpage "EXO Chanyeol Thailand Fanclub", I update pictures, videos, and EXO's updated schedule.

Get to know about K-pop; what make K-pop singers successful

In present time, K-pop wave has spread worldwide and has power over a lot of teenagers including me. As I have been into K-pop for over 6 years, in this section I would like to explain my points of view about what make K-pop singers successful for the past few years. I divide my opinion into 4 points which are; they have been training for a long time before debut to have good performance, everyone in a group has their own position, they have very good looking, harmony between members.

First, they have been training for a long time before debut to have good performance. Training system in South Korean Entertainment Company is very tough; you have to start at a young age. Firstly, you have to get casting by the company, maybe from the contest or someone from the company meet you on the street and give you the name card, and then you enter the audition. If you pass, you will get a contract to start training. According to this article, those kids who are trainees will receive lessons in singing, dancing, music instruments, speaking in public, and language. After that, when the company has a new project of girl group or boy band to debut, the company will choose members among trainees. So if you’re very good, you will get a chance to become a singer, or else you have to continue training (the longest training period that I know is 7 years).
In Summary, according to this tough training system, you can see that K-pop singers have a very good performance; they dance like they are the same person.

Here's the example of a good performance.

Second,  everyone in a group has their own position. In one group, usually there are more than 3 people, so they all have their main role. I provide them into 5 points.
  • Leader, as I explain that there are many people in one group, so the leader will be the one who answer most of the questions when it comes to the interview or on TV programs.
  • Main vocal, mostly is the one (or up to 3 in some groups) who has good voice, great singing skills, and get most of the part to sing.
  • Rapper which is the one who is really easy to recognize because they have their own rap part, mostly in the middle of the song.
  • Main dancer, every group has main dancer. In my opinion, K-pop group seem to focus on dancing more than singing. So, the main dancer will be the person who has very strong and talented dancing skills which mostly dance in the center.
  • Center or image, mostly this person has the best looking in the group. The center always stands in the middle because when you look at the whole picture, usually the first thing you look is straight to the center and this per son will make the whole group looks great.
In summary, everyone in a group has their own position to make it easily to recognize when it comes to the group that has numbers of members.

Third, K-pop singers have a very good looking. As you might have heard that South Korea is very famous for plastic surgery, so some of K-pop singers have got some plastic surgery as well, but there are also some of them that have natural beauty.
Having plastic surgery might help them to have more confident and more attractive. In my opinion, mostly they get nose jobs and double eyelids, but other than that, make up techniques nowadays can fix some of the problems that they may have.
Here is an example of K-pop singer who admit that she has got some plastic surgery; Kara's Goo Hara

In summary, K-pop singers have a very good looking in order to attract the audiences. However, it doesn't matter that they had got plastic surgery or not because they all had to work hard as trainees before become real singers.

Last, harmony between members.
Because they have many people in one group, so they all live together in a dormitory which makes it easier to travel from place to place when they have group schedule. Also, most of the members know each other since they were trainees, so they are very close. Almost every time when K-pop group win in a music show, some of them will cry because they all have worked very hard and shared both good and bad moments together.

In summary, harmony between members is the way to help them to have a good team work and become successful.

In conclusion, I provide my 4 points of view that make K-pop singers successful which are; they have been training for a long time before debut to have good performanceeveryone in a group has their own positionthey have very good lookingharmony between members
Please note that those are my own opinion, from what I see, what I read. Feel free to share thoughts in the comment box.

Get to know EXO, the hottest Korean boy band in 2015

EXO FROM EXO PLANET

In present time, most of the teenagers who interested in K-pop world wide would have heard about the hottest South Korean boy band, EXO which is the first group to sell their album over 1 million copies in the past twelve years.
Also, EXO just break the highest record for male artists in Korea on the U.S. Billboard 200, with the second album "EXODUS".
In this section, I would like to talk about short history of EXO.

EXO is a South Korean boy band debuted in 2012 with 12 members (8 Korean and 4 Chinese), separated into two groups; EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin), promoting in South Korea and China, under SM Entertainment, one of the top three entertainment company in South Korea.

After EXO has debuted over 3 years, 2 Chinese members, Kris and Luhan have filed lawsuit to departure from the group.
As well as another Chinese member, Tao who leaves EXO recently.

The three Chinese members’ departure from the group due to the tough schedule which causes their health problem, now the group is continued promoting with 9 members.

I also provide brief profile of 9 members separated into
EXO-K and EXO-M.

However, this blog will be focusing on my bias, Park Chanyeol only(among K-pop fans, they call their favorite member "bias").

Park Chanyeol; Biography

To get to know more about Park Chanyeol, I will divide the content into three main topics (three posts); (1)biography, (2)how to recognize Chanyeol among other members, and (3)talented Chanyeol.

(1) BIOGRAPHY

Among EXO members, Park Chanyeol is my favorite member. In this section, I will cover Chanyeol's biography.

Park Chanyeol (박찬열) was born on November 27, 1992 in Seoul, South Korea. He has one older sister, Park Yoora, an announcer at MBC Broadcasting Station. His father owns a live cafe and his mother owns Italian restaurant called "Viva Polo", which his fans love to stop by when they visit South Korea.

Chanyeol participated in the 2008 smart model contest; he won the second place and has been accepted to sign the contract to start training in SM entertainment. As a trainee, Chanyeol was practicing his skills in several branch of entertainment industry for 4 years. At first, Chanyeol thought that the company will put him in a band because he can play much kind of music instruments. Also he was not interested in dancing and preferred to stay still with his music instruments, so he avoided getting dance training for over two years. After that, he started to train how to rap because he got the compliment from the trainer, then he changed his mind and started dancing as well.

Before debuted as EXO's member, Chanyeol starred in several music videos which are; Hahaha song (TVXQ), Genie (Girls' Generation), and Twinkle (TaeTiSeo).

After officially debuted as EXO's member on April 8, 2012, Chanyeol also participated in another music video; You don't know love (K.Will). As well as being the lead actor in a web drama "EXO Next Door" with his EXO members and movie Jangsoo Shop.

Apart from showing off his acting skills, Chanyeol is very talented; he composes songs and posts them through his social networks. Also, he wrote the rap part in a song "Run" in EXO's album, OVERDOSE, and appeared as featuring rapper for artists from the same company.

In summary, Chanyeol is a very talented young boy who tried very hard to make his dream comes true and he made it.

Park Chanyeol; How to recognize Chanyeol among other members

 (2) How to recognize Chanyeol among other members

Since Korean boy band mostly has more than 3 members in a group, and people may think that they all look the same at first (you know that South Korea is very famous for plastic surgery, right?), so here I will discuss 5 points on How to recognize Chanyeol among other members.

Chanyeol is the tallest member,
with 186 cm. So for the choreography, most of the time Chanyeol dances at the back, and sometimes all the way to one side, left or right. Or else he may conceal his members.

Chanyeol has very special ears
just like Yoda from Star War and Dobby from Harry Potter. Because he likes wearing cap a lot, so that makes his ears easy to see.

Chanyeol has very beautiful teeth
his teeth are small and look very neat. Chanyeol likes to show off his teeth by making a big smile to the camera. His mother told the fans who have visited her restaurant that when Chanyeol was young, he took good care of his teeth by brushing them after every meal.

Chanyeol is a main rapper in EXO
That means, he has his own part to rap, mostly his part will be in the middle of the song. Also, when he does his rapping part, he will dance in the center.

Chanyeol has the lowest voice tone
among members and he talks a lot, or sometimes just makes some noise. If you watch or listen to the program that EXO appears, you will hear his deep voice very often.

In summary, I provided 5 points to recognize Chanyeol among other members. I hope that it will help you remember Chanyeol very soon.

Park Chanyeol; Talented Chanyeol

(3) Talented Chanyeol

As I mentioned in his biography that Chanyeol is very talented, also he is a very warm-hearted person. So in this section I provide five points to show what he can do.

First, Chanyeol can play much kind of music instruments, such as guitar drum and piano.

Second, Chanyeol can do beatboxing and he used his skills to show in the contest that he participated in 2008.

Third, Chanyeol can compose musics and he shows his music to the fans through his Instagram account.

Fourth, Chanyeol is able to cook, EXO members also confirmed that he can cook well.

Fifth, Chanyeol likes to fix things that break in the dormitory, he said on one radio broadcast recently, and he help other celebrities when he was part of the program “SBS Roomate” as well.

In summary, those five points are just small information that I picked because I like. There are more about Chanyeol that I would like to write very soon.

Please stay tuned.

How K-pop and Park Chanyeol Help me improve myself

After I talked about K-pop, EXO, and Park Chanyeol, in this section I would like to tell my own story about how K-pop help me improve myself.

First, I started to learn Korean language.  Since I’ve been into K-pop for over six years, I wanted to be able to understand Korean language without reading Thai or English subtitle. I applied for Korean class at Ramkhamhaeng Institute of Language, Ramkhamhaeng University. After I finished two courses, I feel so happy that I can understand more Korean even I still need to read from Thai or English subtitle, for example; when I listen to Korean song, I’m more into the lyrics because I can understand some words and some sentence.

Second, I started to save money to go to South Korea. Actually, I went to South Korea twice, but with the tour agency. However, this time I would like to go on my own. I want to visit several places that related to EXO and Park Chanyeol. There are a lot of maps and guides about how to go there. I’ve already booked the flight and hotel to go by the end of 2015, so I will review my trip after I come back.

Third, I have a Youtube channel and upload videos with Thai subtitle. Because EXO has become a global star, there are some groups of fans who make English subtitle for the show, TV or radio program that EXO appears. Since I’m studying in international program, so my English is quite good, and I started to translate the dialogue and caption, put it in the video, and upload on Youtube. My most viewed Thai subtitle video is the radio program “Sunny FM Date”, the view has reached 50,000 views last month.
Recently, we have gathered those who make Thai subtitle for EXO in Thailand, and make a group called “EXO Thaisub Union”, so that we can share who will make what programs, and help each other share the links on Social Network.

Last, I make some new friends online. Normally, I’m a very quiet person when I meet someone new, but I talk a lot with my family and my close friends. However, they are not into K-pop like me, so I find some friends online and talk with them about K-pop. Also, I got Korean friends recently, and they teach me some Korean. Two months ago, two of my Korean friends came to Thailand and we had a one day trip together. I was having so much fun with them.

In conclusion, everyone has their own interest, for me is K-pop and it helps me a lot to improve myself. I hope you will have a good source of inspiration, too.
